Design Requirements
Why?
Why?
Students were tasked with creating an accumulator that could satisfy a certain gas volume and weight without displacing more than 0.004 inches or yielding.
How?
How?
I first designed an accumulator, chose a starting material, and ran a simulation to determine the stress and displacement under the given pressure.
From there, I tweaked the dimensions of the accumulator and the material until a perfect balance was found to fit the requirements.
